The More You Know

Cox’s Know Your Numbers Initiative

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We are committed to helping employees be proactive about their health. We offer comprehensive health care coverage and promote the importance of preventive care like screenings, vaccinations and routine physicals. We encourage employees to take charge of their health through the Know Your Numbers program.

Know Your Numbers provides actionable data through free health screenings that measure cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, waist circumference and glucose – key indicators of risk for conditions like heart disease, diabetes and stroke. Employees can earn incentives for participating in these confidential screenings and have the option to receive personalized coaching on ways to improve their numbers and their health.

Among eligible Cox medical plan members, 44 percent took advantage of Know Your Numbers screenings in 2016. Based on employee participation, Cox donated more than $75,000 each to Susan G. Komen of Greater Atlanta and the Movember Foundation – $10 per employee screening.

Promoting Wellness: Inside and Out

Employees motivate each another to succeed through Wellness Warriors – divisional volunteers who work to ensure employees and their families have the health-related information they need – and business-level initiatives to make healthy choices.

Cox also believes in mindfulness: bringing focus and awareness to the small decisions we make every day that affect our well-being. The Mindful program has brought powerful speakers to employees, including Power of Now author Eckhart Tolle and ABC News correspondent and author Dan Harris to share their personal journeys toward a more mindful life.

Doing Business the Right Way


In 2016, Cox launched an enterprise-wide ethics and compliance program for U.S. employees and introduced a Code of Conduct and a dedicated Ethics Hotline at Cox Enterprises, Cox Automotive and Cox Media Group. Cox Communications’ Code of Excellence was updated and renamed the Code of Conduct to align with the other Cox business units.

The Code of Conduct outlines Cox’s legal and ethical expectations of employees and provides guidelines to resolve related questions or concerns. It is a reflection of our long-standing values and Cox’s commitment to our stakeholders.
